Check out this map!Please note where they want to relocate the tortoises!

If you look up and to the right, you'll see the rectangles,one above the other, adjacent to Interstate 15,
which appears to be right before the Nipton Rd exit on the westbound lane. The desert tortoises will be forcibly evicted from their territories miles away and plopped down right next to one of the busiest freeways.
Others will be moved to the 4 rectangle areas to the left side of the project.

We all know how well these translocation projects go- how about the Ft Irwin translocation? The ravens and
the coyotes have had a field day!

I know personally from driving many times through the Mohave Preserve heading from Nipton over to Cima that the tortoises do cross the road, especially after a rain. I've seen this. I have made a u-turn before to chase after a speeder to try to get them to slow down, after I had passed one in the middle of the road. Thank
the Lord, he(she) wasn't hit!
