Interesting article relating to the First Solar project

Found this today while perusing the Sierra Club List Serv.

Here is the link to the article:
http://sunpluggers.com/2010/01/solar-to-coexist-with-nature-in-desert-000005.php

Very interesting and well written and illustrated article, however, there
is a major omission.

Nowhere in the article does it mention the 30 year battle that has been
going on to stop LA from turning the old Kaiser mine into the world’s
largest landfill!

To read the article, this is only used up land out in the middle of nowhere
inhabited by a few hardy souls looking only for a security guard job with
the “new massa”.

If you are interested in reading about any of the history and timeline of the
struggle to stop the garbage dump below Joshua Tree National Park, you
can google Eagle Mine, etc.

I think it’s time that people take it upon themselves to check these things
out, look at the data, listen to what opinion makers try to impart AT YOU
WITH A GRAIN OF SALT, AND COME TO YOUR OWN OPINION.

Also folks, my suggestion would be to surf over to this site if you want the
latest info on the First Solar project, or others:
http://basinandrangewatch.org/

This site is highly regarded by this blogger and I strongly recommend a
visit!

As always, vaya con dios my friends. Comments are welcomed.
