Big change around here

I have given up on my attempt to break into the rare earth investing blogosphere.

The two Google blogs have been deleted, and the site that I paid for has been deleted.

Reason for the deletion: I have been spending most of my time writing on various investment forums where
I can post for free and get immediate feedback from the readers.

So my writing will be done there or if it is about the desert, here.

I had some success as far as numbers of visitors on some days- but that did not translate into any sort of financial success.

As far as that goes, the only good news on that front is that my EORBF stock appears to finally be making a comeback,
I bought in at $1.73 and it immediately plunged over a few weeks to touch .58 cents, and the last couple of days made it back up to $1.02, with my firm hope that it will keep running upward!

Still driving the bus, shuttling tourists back and forth from their hotels to Disneyland, it isn’t much but it does help keep the financial wolves at bay.

Haven’t been to the desert and hiked for a while; here it is May, last year I was doing my “bighorn whispering” routine at Big Morongo Canyon Preserve- go figure. What a difference a year makes!

Hope to begin writing more here now without any distractions.

More on the above sentence. Look I am not going to dwell upon the tragedy befalling our Mojave, been there, done that- along with other bloggers- it is what it is, it ain’t gonna change as there is way too much big money involved now, all I can do is point out the obvious when it occurs and do my own thing.

I am not making any promises that I can’t keep.

I believe that they surfed over to read the Joshua Tree graffiti article. Perhaps the order for a dozen rattan canes has already been placed Winking smile

The above is proof positive that even the little blogger can get visitors from high places every once in a while.

A personal post

Just want to let folks know that I haven’t forgotten about this and my other blog. However, something has come up that might make it difficult for me to access it for a while after next Tuesday, May 7, at least for a few days.

It has been discovered in a routine eyeglass fitting and exam over at the Long Beach Veteran’s Hospital that I might possibly have a retinal tear in my right eye. I have had 2 exams, which are a little intrusive with actual touching of the eyeball with some sort of instrument, and have another next Tuesday. The reason for an additional one is to allow the blood inside the eye to dissipate so that the doctors can get a good, clear view of the retina surface- if a tear is found, an immediate laser surgery will be done to repair the damaged area.

Evidently this is mandatory with this sort of thing as the vitreous liquid inside the eyeball can leak through the torn surface and pool behind the retinal membrane, resulting in it bulging out and tearing away from the wall of the socket. Ouch! This would be a major event likely leading to blindness in the eye, hence the mandatory repair when a tear is found.

From my research, it is possible that I might not be allowed to read after the surgery for a time to be determined by the doctors, so we will just have to wait and see what happens.

It is quite possible that the next exam may not show a tear but something has to be the cause for the bleeding. Hopefully that will all be discovered next week.

My hope obviously is that no surgery will be necessary.
